Wathnan Racing Fields Strong Trio in Qatar Arabian World Cup on Arc Sunday

Mdmar – Paris

Wathnan Racing will be represented by a strong three-horse team at ParisLongchamp on Sunday, October 4, 2026, as the spotlight falls on the main day of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe weekend.

Wathnan’s confirmed Sunday challenge is headed by the Group 1 Qatar Arabian World Cup, run over 2,000 metres for Purebred Arabians. The final field contains 13 runners, with Lippo De Carrere, Molfit and Chdia representing Wathnan Racing after the final declarations.

Five-year-old Lippo De Carrere, trained by Alban de Mieulle, brings proven top-level credentials into the race. Earlier this year he produced a major performance in Doha to win the Group 1 HH The Amir Sword for Purebred Arabians, defeating Al Ghadeer. He had already established himself at the highest level by winning the 2025 UAE President Cup, the UK Arabian Derby, at Doncaster.

Six-year-old Molfit, trained in France by François Rohaut, arrives following an important victory in Istanbul on September 10. He captured the Group 3 Malazgirt Trophy, the Turkish leg of the UAE President’s Cup series, recording the third victory of his career and his first Stakes success after several previous placings in Group 1 company.

Completing the Wathnan trio is five-year-old mare Chdia, another Alban de Mieulle trainee. Chdia won the Group 1 Qatar International Cup in Doha earlier this year and had already demonstrated her ability in France when finishing runner-up in the Group 1 Qatar Arabian Trophy des Juments during the 2025 Arc weekend.

Wathnan Racing had also held earlier entries in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe itself with Best Secret and Gethin, but neither horse is among the final 16 declared runners for Sunday’s showpiece.

Wathnan’s confirmed presence on Arc Sunday therefore centres on a powerful three-pronged challenge in the Qatar Arabian World Cup, combining Lippo De Carrere’s Group 1 success, Molfit’s recent winning momentum and Chdia’s proven international form.
