Saudi show jumping enjoyed a productive start to October, combining continental medals with international Grand Prix success. A four-medal campaign at the Aichi–Nagoya 2026 Asian Games was followed by Abdullah Al Sharbatly’s victory in the Rabat Grand Prix, extending Saudi Arabia’s presence on major equestrian podiums.

The Asian Games campaign gathered momentum on 1 October when Ramzy Al Duhami, Abdulrahman Alrajhi, Khaled Al-Mobty and Saad Al-Ajmi secured team jumping gold. Saudi Arabia finished ahead of the United Arab Emirates and Japan, which took silver and bronze respectively, demonstrating the strength of its four-rider squad.

On 4 October, Al Duhami added individual gold in the competition featuring fences up to 1.55 metres, with Alrajhi claiming silver. Al Duhami therefore completed a team and individual golden double, while Alrajhi returned with team gold and individual silver. Their performances gave Saudi Arabia the leading two positions in that individual competition.

Al Duhami secured victory with a clear jump-off in 42.59 seconds. Alrajhi recorded a faster time of 39.73 seconds but incurred eight faults, leaving him second. The outcome underlined the decisive value of accuracy when riders must balance speed against the risk of penalties.

Al-Mobty added bronze in the separate individual competition staged over 1.45-metre fences, recording 45.35 seconds. Alongside his contribution to team gold, that result helped take Saudi jumping’s final medal tally to two golds, one silver and one bronze. The individual medals came across two separate competitions, reflecting the breadth of the Saudi campaign.

The momentum continued in Morocco on 9 October, when Al Sharbatly partnered Diriyah to win the Prix S.A.R. la Princesse Lalla Amina Grand Prix in Rabat. The 1.55-metre class, held at the Dar Es Salam equestrian venue during the Morocco Royal Tour’s CSIO4*-W meeting, attracted 45 horse-and-rider combinations.

Al Sharbatly delivered two clear rounds and stopped the clock at 50.83 seconds in the second round. France’s Olivier Perreau finished second in 51.65 seconds, ahead of Switzerland’s Edouard Schmitz in 52.01 seconds. The Saudi rider had also won Thursday’s CSI2* 1.35-metre Prix ANCFCC aboard Kanturo BH, adding another victory to his Rabat campaign.

Together, these performances show the range of Saudi Arabia’s competitive strength: collective success in team jumping, individual medal-winning ability and victories against international Grand Prix fields. Achieving all three within a short period provides encouraging momentum for the riders as they prepare for their next major competitions.
