Saudi Arabia Wins Gulf Cup ‘Khaleeji Al Diyar Al Arabiya 27’

Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, attended the final of the 27th edition of the Arabian Gulf Football Cup, “Khaleeji Al Diyar Al Arabiya 27,” and crowned the Saudi national team champions after they defeated the UAE national team 2–0 in the final held today, Tuesday, at Alinma Stadium at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.

The match was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Sport; FIFA President Gianni Infantino; Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation; His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz; His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz; His Highness Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Governor of Jeddah; His Royal Highness Prince Fawaz bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Taif; His Highness Prince Nawaf bin Mohammed; and His Highness Prince Saud bin Nawaf bin Mohammed.

Also in attendance were Deputy Minister of Sport Badr bin Abdulrahman Al Qadi; President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation Badr bin Sulaiman Al Raziza; and presidents and representatives of sports federations from the Gulf Arab states.

On the occasion, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, expressed his sincere thanks and deep appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for his generous patronage of the tournament.

In a press statement, Prince Abdulaziz said: “We are proud of the patronage of this tournament by my master, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, which reflects the leadership’s generous attention to the Arabian Gulf Cup and its established sporting and historical significance for our brothers in the Gulf states, who are united by bonds of brotherhood and affection.”

He added: “I extend my sincere congratulations and best wishes to our wise leadership on our national team’s victory in this prestigious tournament, which holds great importance for us as Gulf nationals. I also commend my brother, His Royal Highness the Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, for attending and crowning the champions, and I congratulate our loyal fans, who played the greatest role in the Green Falcons’ journey throughout the tournament and provided tremendous support in securing this valuable title. I also extend my thanks to all the participating teams for taking part in this Gulf sporting gathering and for the distinguished performances and fair competition they demonstrated. We wish them success in future tournaments, God willing.”

He concluded: “I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to all the organizing bodies and committees, as well as everyone who worked and volunteered, for the tremendous efforts they made from the preparation stages through to the conclusion of the tournament. Their coordination, cooperation and dedication contributed to the success of this edition and ensured that it was delivered in a manner befitting the status of the Gulf Cup and its great significance to the people of the region.”

The “Khaleeji Al Diyar Al Arabiya 27” tournament was held in Jeddah from September 23 to October 6, 2026, with the participation of eight national teams. A total of 15 matches were played at Alinma Stadium at King Abdullah Sports City and Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City, marking the first time Jeddah has hosted the tournament in its history.
