The UAE team won the silver medal, after taking bronze at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, while Japan claimed the bronze medal in Nagoya.

Saudi Arabia’s medal tally at the Games rose to 11, comprising one gold, two silver and eight bronze medals.

Fifth Gold

The Nagoya gold marks Saudi Arabia’s fifth team show-jumping gold medal at recent Asian Games, with its riders retaining the title in most previous editions. The only team gold to elude Saudi Arabia during this period went to Qatar.

Saudi Arabia began winning show-jumping medals at the Asian Games in Doha in 2006, when it claimed team gold, before retaining the title in Guangzhou in 2010. That edition also saw Ramzy Al Duhami win individual gold and Khaled Al Eid take bronze.

At Incheon 2014, Abdullah Al Sharbatly won individual gold, while the Saudi team took silver.

Saudi Arabia returned to team gold in Jakarta in 2018, with Al Duhami adding an individual bronze, before the team won gold again in Hangzhou in 2022, while Al Sharbatly claimed individual gold.

With the Nagoya gold, the Saudi team has continued its strong presence in show jumping on the Asian stage, further adding to its medal haul throughout its participation in the continental Games.
