Romania Round Marks Another Successful Chapter for EIEV Global Endurance Series

The Romania round of the Emirates International Endurance Village Global Endurance Series concluded successfully following the EEF Balkan Endurance Championship at Shagya Sports Club in Buftea, Romania, bringing together riders and endurance representatives from several European countries.
The Romanian leg represented another important step in the international expansion of the series, carrying the vision of the Emirates International Endurance Village in Al Wathba to new destinations and strengthening cooperation, knowledge exchange and development within the global endurance community.
Competition was strong across the different categories. In the 103km Young Riders and Juniors event, Bulgaria’s Radost Bakalova claimed first place, with Greece’s Angeliki Mermingkidi finishing second and Bulgaria’s Deyan Kutelov taking third.
In the 121km competition, Croatia’s Stefano Osip secured victory, followed by compatriot Erin Špada in second place, while Greece’s Aliki Konstantinidou completed the podium in third.

The Romanian programme also featured a range of international endurance competitions over different distances, together with the 160km main ride, underlining the scale and sporting diversity of the event.
Members of the Emirates International Endurance Village family, including Mohammed bin Ali Al Hadrami and Lara Sawaya, were present during the event, reflecting the Village’s continued commitment to supporting international endurance competitions and developing the sport beyond the UAE.
The sporting and organisational success of the Romania round further highlighted the objectives of the EIEV Global Endurance Series — creating an international platform that connects riders, horses, federations and organisers while promoting endurance sport across different regions of the world.
Following another successful international stop, the series continues to strengthen the global presence of the Emirates International Endurance Village in Al Wathba and its role in supporting the development and international growth of endurance riding.
