Qatari Riders Advance to Show Jumping Final at Asian Games in Japan

Qatari riders have qualified for the show jumping final at the Asian Games in Japan; the riders are Sheikh Fahad bin Jassim Al Thani, Bassem Mohammed, and Faleh Al-Ajmi

Wathnan Jumping Team riders Faleh Suwead Al Ajami and Bassem Mohammed have advanced to the concluding stage of the individual show jumping competition at the 20th Asian Games, Aichi–Nagoya 2026, in Japan.

Al Ajami is competing aboard Wathnan Qapella, while Bassem Mohammed partners Wathnan Chaccball, according to the official FEI entry list.

The two Wathnan riders progressed from Saturday’s opening individual round to secure their places in Sunday’s decisive competition, scheduled for October 4, the final day of the Asian Games.

Both riders had earlier represented Qatar in the team show jumping competition alongside Sheikh Ali bin Khalid Al Thani and Sheikh Fahad bin Jassim Al Thani, with Qatar finishing fourth in the team classification.

Their qualification for the individual finale extends a strong international season for the Wathnan pair, who arrived in Japan following an extensive European campaign at high-level international shows.

The official FEI programme lists Sunday’s concluding individual competitions at 1.50m for Group A and 1.55m for Group B, followed by the final classification and medal presentations.
