Pony racing will feature for the first time at Qatar Racing British Champions Day, scheduled for Saturday, October 17, at Ascot Racecourse, giving a new generation of young riders the opportunity to compete at the historic venue.

The inclusion of pony racing will provide emerging riders with the chance to experience the famous Ascot track as part of a race day that brings together some of the most prominent events on the British horse racing calendar.

Ascot notes that a number of prominent horse racing riders began their careers in pony racing before moving into professional competition and progressing to some of the sport’s biggest races.
