Molfit Represents Wathnan Racing in UAE President Cup Series in Turkey

The spotlight turns to Istanbul’s historic Veliefendi Racecourse on Sunday, September 6, 2026, for the Turkish leg of the UAE President Cup Series for Purebred Arabians, staged as the UAE President Cup Series – Malazgirt (G3/ULS/W).

The prestigious contest will be run over 1,600 metres on turf and is open to Purebred Arabians aged three years and older. Nine runners are set to line up, with the UAE President Cup Series providing a total sponsorship purse of $250,000. The winner will receive $142,857, with $57,143 for second, $28,571 for third, $14,286 for fourth and $7,143 for fifth.
International attention will focus on Molfit, who represents Wathnan Racing. The six-year-old will race as number four under Qatari jockey Faleh Nasser Bughenaim, carrying 60kg. His eight rivals are Allie Saint Lon, Azimli, Kahramanoğlu, Zincir Koparan, Aslan Hatip, Gözpınarı, Kral Sultan and Öztatmar.
By Al Mourtajez out of Djezabel Des Forges, Molfit is trained in France by François Rohaut and has established himself as a consistent performer in major Purebred Arabian contests in Europe and the Middle East. He has recorded two career victories while also producing a series of strong placings at Group level.

Among his notable performances was a runner-up finish in the 2024 Abu Dhabi Derby, while this season he finished fourth in the Prix Deryan – Coupe du Sud-Ouest at La Teste de Buch in July.
Molfit now faces another significant international assignment at Veliefendi, where Wathnan Racing will be looking to add further success to its record on the global Purebred Arabian racing stage.
Leading the contenders is Molfit (by Al Mourtajez out of Djezabel des Forges), carrying the colours of Wathnan Racing, trained by François Rohaut and ridden by Faleh Nasser Bughenaim, an international presence that adds further strength to the competitive standard of the race.

Also taking part is Allie Saint Lon (by Alsaker out of Nasma Al Chame), owned by Omar Esmil Sh Ghrghar, trained by Elisabeth Bernard Jean-François and ridden by Adel Al Qeyadi.
The list of participants in the Prestigious Cup race also includes Azimli, Kahraman Oglu, Zincir Koparan, Aslan Hatip, Gözpınarı, Kral Sultan and Öztatmar, in an anticipated meeting for the title of the Türkiye leg of the Prestigious Cup.
The Turkish leg forms part of the UAE President Cup Series’ continuing international programme to promote Purebred Arabian racing and strengthen its global presence, with Istanbul’s international racing festival once again bringing together leading local and overseas runners.
