Major International Saturday Ahead for Wathnan Racing

Wathnan Racing is set for a busy international Saturday on September 12, with six runners across Britain, Ireland and Canada, highlighted by Group/Grade 1 action and a major Purebred Arabian contest.

The Strikin Viking begins the day at Doncaster in the Betfred Portland Heritage Handicap, with Faleh Bughenaim riding for trainer Hamad Al Jehani.

Flora Of Bermuda then tackles the G2 Betfred Park Stakes over seven furlongs. The Andrew Balding-trained mare, partnered by Callum Rodriguez, has already enjoyed a successful season with Group 3 victories at York and Goodwood.

At Leopardstown, Fallen Angel returns to defend her crown in the G1 Matron Stakes over a mile. James Doyle takes the ride for Karl Burke as the multiple Group 1 winner bids to add another major title to her outstanding record.

Back at Doncaster, David Of Athens represents Wathnan Racing in the PJ Towey Handicap over approximately ten furlongs, with Faleh Bughenaim aboard for Hamad Al Jehani.

Romeo AT carries the Wathnan colours in the G1PA UAE President Cup – UK Arabian Derby over ten furlongs.

Tom Marquand partners the Xavier Thomas-Demeaulte-trained four-year-old, who arrives after finishing runner-up in the G1PA Qatar Derby at Chantilly and third in the Doha Cup at Deauville.

The international programme reaches its climax at Woodbine, where Archivist contests the G1 Woodbine Mile, worth C$1 million.
