Kind Of Blue ( Blue point/Blues Sister ), owned by Wathnan Racing, produced a determined victory at Kempton Park on Wednesday evening, marking an important return to winning form ahead of his next major target.

Ridden by James Doyle and trained by James Fanshawe, the five-year-old captured the Class 2 Conditions Stakes over six furlongs on Kempton’s Polytrack surface.

Kind Of Blue travelled prominently before taking the lead inside the final furlong and staying on strongly to score by three-quarters of a length from Mitbaahy, with Montassib finishing third. The winning time was 1:12.28.

The victory was particularly significant as it was Kind Of Blue’s first win since landing the Group 1 British Champions Sprint at Ascot in 2024. He is now expected to return to Ascot for another challenge in the Champions Sprint in two weeks.

James Doyle said the Wathnan Racing runner travelled comfortably throughout and described the race as a useful preparation for Champions Day, with the victory also providing an important confidence boost
