20th Qatar National Purebred Arabian Horse Show kicks off on Friday

The Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club (QREC) is organising the 20th Qatar National Purebred Arabian Horse Show on Friday, 8 December, and Saturday, 9 December at Al Shaqab (Member of Qatar Foundation). The Show will see a wide-scale participation from Qatar, especially as it is open to both leading studs and individual owners.

As many as 301 horses will be on display during the two-day show and such a large number reflects the significance of the event in its 20th edition to purebred Arabian horse owners.

Day 1 will see foals, yearlings and two- and three-year-old fillies and colts vying for honours, while the competition for mares and stallions will be held the next day.

Top two horses from each of the classes, except the foals, will make it to the championship rounds, which will be held later on the second day.

It is worth mentioning that Qatar is a leader in the purebred Arabian horse show discipline worldwide.

At the Arabian Horse World Championship, which was held in Paris last month, Al Shaqab and Aljassimya Farm made their presence felt and further strengthened Qatar’s position in the discipline.

Stallion Wadee Al Shaqab won the Gold Medal and was crowned the World Stallion Champion, while Aljassimya Farm’s Figaro won the World Colt Champion title.
