EIEV Global Endurance Series Continues in Romania on September 19

The Emirates International Endurance Village Global Endurance Series continues its international expansion as the series heads to Romania on Saturday, September 19, 2026, for another important European endurance fixture.
Emirates International Endurance Village has confirmed that the EEF Balkan Championship, scheduled for September 19, forms part of the EIEV Global Endurance Series, bringing riders together through their shared passion for endurance sport.
The competition is being staged in Buftea, Romania, near Bucharest. The Romanian Equestrian Federation lists the Balkan Endurance Championship across September 18–19, featuring Senior, Junior and Young Rider categories.
Major International Endurance Weekend
The Balkan Championship forms part of a much wider endurance programme in Buftea from September 18 to 20.
According to the Romanian Equestrian Federation’s official 2026 competition calendar, the international programme includes CEI1*, CEI2*, CEIYJ1* and CEIYJ2* competitions, as well as international endurance rides over distances reaching 140km and 160km.
Romania’s National Championship Final and Romanian Cup competitions are also being staged during the same weekend.
The combination of international, Balkan and national-level competitions makes Buftea a significant endurance venue this weekend, offering riders and horses opportunities to compete across several levels and distances.
Expanding EIEV’s International Footprint
The Romanian round is another step in the growing international presence of Emirates International Endurance Village, as EIEV continues to support endurance sport and build partnerships beyond the UAE.
EIEV was recently represented at the annual Balkan Equestrian Council meeting, where cooperation with Balkan countries in endurance was presented. EIEV Events Director Mohammed Ali Al Hadrami was also honoured by the council in recognition of his contribution and support for the development of endurance sport in the Balkan region.
The initiative reflects the wider vision behind the EIEV Global Endurance Series, connecting endurance communities in different parts of the world while encouraging international competition, organisational development and knowledge exchange.
The European programme will continue shortly after Romania, with x-bionic sphere in Slovakia staging the EIEV Global Endurance Series Challenge Ride from September 25–27, 2026.
Attention will therefore turn to Buftea on September 19, as Romania hosts the next chapter of the EIEV Global Endurance Series and brings together riders for one of the region’s major endurance weekends.
