Abdel Saïd Strengthens Lead in Longines Global Champions Tour Championship

Wathnan Jumping Team rider Abdel Saïd continues to lead the 2026 Longines Global Champions Tour Championship following the conclusion of the Vienna stage at the historic Schönbrunn Palace.
After 12 of the season’s 15 stages, Saïd has increased his championship total to 219 points, maintaining his position at the top of the standings as the title race enters its decisive final phase.
Germany’s Christian Ahlmann sits second with 205 points, Australia’s Edwina Tops-Alexander is third on 192 points, while Austria’s Max Kühner occupies fourth place with 191 points.

Saïd’s championship lead reflects a highly consistent 2026 campaign, highlighted by his Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix victory in Cannes aboard Wathnan Zasou vom Claashof, a result that also secured his qualification for the Longines Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix in Riyadh.
In Vienna, Saïd also produced another strong five-star performance, finishing third in the 1.55m GCL competition as part of the Istanbul Warriors team aboard Wathnan Calvaro. A clear round in the second team round helped his team secure third place on the podium.

Following the twelfth leg of the championship, the battle at the top has tightened considerably. Saïd now leads Ahlmann by 14 points, while only 28 points separate the championship leader from fourth-placed Max Kühner.
Three decisive stages remain in the 2026 championship. The series now heads to Rome from 9 to 11 October, followed by Cairo from 22 to 24 October, before the championship finale in Rabat from 30 October to 1 November. The GC Playoffs will then take place in Riyadh in November.
With three championship stages remaining, Saïd enters the closing phase of the season at the top of the standings, keeping Wathnan Jumping Team firmly at the centre of the 2026 Longines Global Champions Tour title battle.
