12 Cups and SAR 6.2 Million on Offer as Taif Racing Season 2026 Concludes

The 2026 Taif racing season concludes today, Saturday, with the 19th and 20th race meetings at King Khalid Equestrian Field in Taif Governorate. The final two meetings feature 22 races, with 11 races at each meeting, offering total prize money of SAR 6.2 million, as leading horses compete for 12 cups.
Friday’s meeting features several of the season’s أبرز races, led by the King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Cup for three-year-old Arabian horses, over 1,600 metres with a prize of SAR 1 million, and the Prince Abdullah bin Faisal Cup, over 2,000 metres with the same prize, in addition to the Okaz Cup, over 2,000 metres with a prize of SAR 600,000.

Friday’s programme also includes four Taif Cups — two for colts and two for fillies — for two- and three-year-old horses, over distances ranging from 1,400 to 1,600 metres, with total prize money of SAR 1.6 million.
Competition continues on Saturday with the Saudi National Day Cup, over 2,400 metres with a prize of SAR 450,000, along with the King Khalid Equestrian Field Arabian Horse and Fillies Championship Cups and the King Khalid Equestrian Field Championship Cup, each carrying a prize of SAR 250,000. The Jockey Club Challenge Cup offers a prize of SAR 150,000.

The entries for the final cups include a number of prominent horses, including Sahab Al Riyadh and Rukn Al Qanun in the King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Cup; Bint Ghalia Al Khalediah, Hanouf Athbah and Mamoun Al Khalediah in the Prince Abdullah bin Faisal Cup; and Thunder School, Wootton Sun and Fal Khair in the Okaz Cup.
The Saudi National Day Cup will feature Al Jaberti, Fal Khair and Swordog, while the remaining Saturday cups will see a number of competing horses vie for the titles of the King Khalid Equestrian Field Championships and the Jockey Club Challenge Cup.
The Jockey Club has invited residents and visitors to Taif to attend the final week, which will feature national-themed activities, hospitality and restaurant areas, as well as programmes for spectators. Admission tickets are available free of charge through the WeBook app.
