Here we go again! Tomorrow, riders from twenty nations will come together at the Ecuries du Golfe de Saint-Tropez in Grimaud, in the heart of the French Riviera, for the HUBSIDE JUMPING. The major names in international show jumping will try to follow in the footsteps of Patrice Delaveau and Guillaume Foutrier, the winners of last month’s HUBSIDE JUMPING SPRING TOUR. Free entry.
There will be lots of competition during the CSI 1*, CSI 2* and CSI 4* classes of the HUBSIDE JUMPING! As for the French riders, an experienced French delegation will be able to count on two podium regulars, Simon Delestre, second best French rider in the Longines World Rankings (19th) and World team silver medallist in 2014, and Philippe Rozier, current Olympic team gold medallist, who will return to Grimaud with three horses, including Rahotep de Toscane, which was a member of the winning team in Rio. The young generation, which are currently flourishing internationally, led by the experienced Julien Gonin, Edward Levy and Mégane Moissonnier, will also have their word to say in all likelihood. Worth noting: the return of Eugenie Angot to CSI4* competition, absent from this level
since 2014! In the CSI2*, will the actor-director Guillaume Canet follow in the footsteps of Raphaël Goehrs, the winner of the Grand Prix in April?
As for the foreign riders, the most feared CSI4* combination will undoubtedly be the one formed by Colombia’s Carlos Lopez, with Admara 2. Together they finished fifth in the most recent World Equestrian Games, and seventh at the2018 Longines FEI World Cup Final in Paris. A legend in international show jumping, the rider who at the end of the
80s, with his white horse Milton, competed against the national heroes Jappeloup and Pierre Durand, is also expected
at the HUBSIDE JUMPING: John Whitaker, who will be accompanied by Argento, well placed last week in the international classes at the CSI 4* in Bourg-en-Bresse. Belgium, Spain and Italy will each be sending three riders to the CSI 4* in Grimaud. François Mathy Jr will be representing Belgium, as well as Constant van Paesschen, the team member within the Chantilly Pegasus team (Global Champions League tour) of Carlos Lopez and of France’s Sadri
Fegaier, the international rider and successful businessman behind the HUBSIDE JUMPING. The CSI 4* Grand Prix
will boast prize money of €100, 000, and €25,000 for the CSI 2* Grand Prix.
The HUBSIDE JUMPING will take place at the renovated Ecuries Golfe de Saint-Tropez, in a brand-new 120 x 70m ring, next to a 100 x 50m paddock. The general management has been entrusted to Denis Monticolo; Eleonora Ottaviani, the director of the IJRC, the International Jumping Riders Club, will be the sports director.
