Mdmar -Doha – Qatar, 8 January 2026 –
Tour 2 of H.H. The Father Amir’s Prix 2026 started today at the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab, launching three days of CSI1*, CSI3* and CSI5* competition as part of the Doha Equestrian Tour (DET) 2026 season. Running from 8-10 January, Tour 2 welcomes more than 240 riders, with overall series prize money exceeding €3.3 million, as the championship steps up into its next stage with CSI5* and CSI3* classes alongside CSI1* and National Championship competition.
Competition on Day 1 took place across Al Shaqab’s arenas, with sport running from morning through to the evening and building toward the weekend’s feature moments, including Friday’s CSI5* “Six Bars” and Saturday’s Grand Prix across categories.

Day 1 featured eight classes across three arenas, including: CSI3* 1.35m (Special Two-Phase) in the Longines Outdoor Arena, CSI1* 1.25m (Faults & Time) in the Longines Indoor Arena, CSI3* 1.25m (Faults & Time) in the Second Outdoor Arena, CSI3* 1.40m (Two Phases) in the Longines Outdoor Arena, CSI1* 1.10m (Special Two-Phase) in the Second Outdoor Arena, CSI5* 1.40m (Two Phases) in the Longines Outdoor Arena, CSN 0.60m (Optimum Time) in the Longines Indoor Arena, and CSI5* 1.50m (Faults & Time) as the day’s feature class in the Longines Outdoor Arena.
Day 1 Highlights
Tour 2 opened with a full schedule and a clear step up in intensity as CSI5* classes entered the programme. Across CSI1* and CSI3* levels, riders navigated fast-paced formats that rewarded accuracy and rhythm, while the late-day CSI5* classes brought the first high-pressure tests of the Tour, setting the tone for a weekend where performance margins are expected to be extremely fine.

“Last week I was very close, but something always went wrong, so to start this weekend with a win in the first competition feels amazing. It was also my first five-star class this evening, so it’s a positive start. Incredible Z was excellent today – he’s a very careful horse and very quick, so when we put in a good round, we’re usually right there on the podium. I’m grateful to everyone who supported me to come here this year, and I’m looking forward to the rest of the tour.”

Tour 2 continues Friday, 9 January, with competition across all arenas and the programme building toward two major highlights: a CSI5* 1.55m class with a jump-off and the first CSI5* “Six Bars” class of the Tour, a crowd-favorite format expected to draw strong interest.
The Tour concludes on Saturday, 10 January, with Grand Prix Day across categories, including the CSI5* 1.60m Grand Prix (jump-off) and the CSI3* 1.50m Grand Prix (jump-off), alongside the CSI1* 1.30m Grand Prix (jump-off).
