Team FAYAT win Monaco Longines Pro Am Cup in aid of AMADE

The Longines Global Champions Tour of Monaco once again hosted the Longines Pro-Am Cup on Thursday evening, where amateur and professional riders team up to compete for the coveted title, focusing on speed and agility. With €27,000 raised for the Amade Charity, it was a fantastic evening for all.

Now in its twelfth year, the competition was launched by Patron Charlotte Casiraghi in 2010. Emphasizing the family spirit of the sport, its pace and relay format make it a real crowd-pleaser. Over two rounds, 11 teams competed, each striving to jump clear with the fastest combined time.

As the evening lights of Monte Carlo began to twinkle, the teams continued to battle for a podium finish while the crowd clapped and cheered them on. H.R.H. The Princess Caroline of Hanover, along with CEO of Longines Matthias Breschan and France’s Longines Brand Manager Olivier Pacini, presented the awards, including elegant Longines watches for the winners.

Ines Joly and Eleonora Sanna of Team FAYAT set a blistering pace, with the team clocking a combined time of 67.07 seconds A smiling Eleonora remarked after her round: “It was my first time to do this sort of competition, it is very impressive with all the people here supporting, shouting and saying ‘GO, GO, GO!’ – it was so fun.”

Pro rider Ines Joly added: “Tonight was so fun, and particularly to do it with my close friend Eleonora. We had some pressure on us tonight, but the support from the crowd was amazing.”

Eleanora went on to add: “Ines is such a good rider, and it was really an honor to ride with her here tonight, it was really a lot of fun.”

All eyes turned to Team AMADE, who had been impressive in the first round. A lightning-fast ride from Juliette Noghes put pressure on pro rider Felipe Countinho Mendonca Nagata, who secured second place less than a second behind, finishing in 68.33 seconds.

The final team to go in round two, Team CTM, risked it all as Milena-Maria Pappa and Emanuele Gaudiano pushed hard. Despite taking strides out everywhere they unbelievably finished on the exact same time as Team AMADE to take joint second place on the podium!

All eyes now turn to the GCL of Monaco tomorrow where the teams will battle it out for pole position.
