Scott Shines in St. Tropez with Second LGCT G.Prix Win of 2025

Mdmar – St. Tropez – LGCT

Against the picture-perfect backdrop of Pampelonne Beach, three of the fastest riders in the world went head-to-head in a breathtaking jump-off. It was Scott Brash and Hello Chadora Lady who set the standard early – and held it – fending off fierce challenges from Longines World No.1 Kent Farrington with Toulayna and Julien Epaillard aboard Donatello d’Auge.
In a battle defined by precision and pace, Brash claimed his second Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix title of the season in style, proving once again that he’s still one of the sport’s ultimate finishers.

Under the golden glow of the French Riviera, the Longines Global Champions Tour of St. Tropez, Ramatuelle delivered a Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix for the ages.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the French Riviera, the Longines Global Champions Tour of St. Tropez, Ramatuelle is where elite sport meets refined elegance. From world-class show jumping to glamorous celebrations, it’s a weekend that defines the height of equestrian luxury.

Taking the second Longines Global Champions Tour win of the season, Scott Brash couldn’t hide his excitement. He said “There are very enthusiastic crowds, always great to compete here at the Longines Global Champions Tour.” As for Hello Chadora Lady, he said, “She gives you so much confidence. Because she’s always seeing you, she’s always wanting to jump for you, you know, so it’s just about containing that energy that she has and, yeah, thankfully, it paid off today.”

Longines world number one, Kent Farrington, was full of analysis after his second place on the Longines Global Champions Tour podium, failing to take the win, but securing his Golden Ticket to the Longines Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix at the GC Prague Playoffs. He said, “We certainly had to take some risks today, it was a very fast class, Scott went really fast, I thought I could catch him – that first line I probably needed to do one less stride because he had such a great round today.”

A man on a mission and a man no stranger to the Longines Global Champions Tour podium, Julien Epillard knew what it takes to stand on the top step, but didn’t quite do enough tonight. Speaking with Rosie Turner for GCTV with a smile on his face, he said, “I prefer for sure first, and maybe second, but no, my horse is coming back very well, and I am really happy. I lost a little bit of time on the vertical before the six strides, maybe I could have taken a bit more risk, but if someone last night had told me I would’ve been third, I would’ve signed for that, so no, very happy.”

Following an electrifying sixth stage of the 2025 Longines Global Champions Tour, the Championship race remains tighter than ever. With today’s results shaking up the leaderboard once again, all eyes now turn to Paris for what promises to be a pivotal showdown in the title battle. The latest standings are:

Christian Kukuk – 90 points

Round 1 of the LGCT Grand Prix of Ramatuelle, St. Tropez delivered thrills and spills from start to finish over a challenging 1.60m track. A heartbreaking single-time fault kept Guido Grimaldi and Gentleman out of the jump-off, but you wouldn’t have known it from his post-round celebration, as he secured his best-ever result in an LGCT Grand Prix. The track proved punishing throughout, with the final line and the PremiuMares plank catching out several of the sport’s biggest names, including Henrik von Eckermann, Max Kühner, Daniel Deusser, Eduardo Alvarez Aznar, Christian Kukuk, Simon Delestre, and Katrin Eckermann – each missing the jump-off by just one rail.

With eight combinations through, it was all to play for in the jump-off… but who would come out on top?

First to go, Jérôme Guery and Killer Queen, who hadn’t won an LGCT Grand Prix since Mexico City in 2019 set the pace with a flawless clear in 45.23 seconds. It was a textbook round but left the door open for faster challengers…

Already qualified for the LGCT Super Grand Prix after winning in Shanghai, Scott Brash and Hello Chadora Lady looked determined to double down in 2025. They rocketed out of the gate, making it look effortless, and stopped the clock in 41.55 seconds. But with a world-class field still to come, would it be enough?

2023 winner Julien Epaillard and Donatello d’Auge launched their campaign to reclaim the top step of the podium, setting off at full tilt. But the fairytale home win wasn’t to be, he slotted into second, over a second off Brash’s blistering time.

The home crowd roared for Penelope Leprevost and Bingo del Tondou as they entered waving the French flag. They delivered another clear, but their time of 45.63 seconds left them out of contention for the win.

German maestro Philipp Weishaupt and Oreo D.R. added to the drama with another clean round, finishing in 45 seconds flat-cementing this as one of the tightest LGCT Grand Prix finishes of the 2025 season.
Riding with the Longines Global Champions Tour Championship armband for the first time, Gilles Thomas delivered under pressure with the talented 9-year-old Qalista DN. Their clear in 43.03 seconds earned provisional third-and sparked a nervous wait to see if it would be enough to protect his championship lead.

Longines World number one Kent Farrington and Toulayna gave it everything, flying from start to finish. But a quick check before the final fence saw them land in second-over a second off the lead-with just one rider left.
That rider was Natalie Dean, and she had nothing to lose. Taking every inside turn aboard Acota M at full tilt, she threw everything at it-but two fences down ended her bid, handing the win to Brash in what was one of the fastest LGCT Grand Prix of the season so far.

With the Championship battle intensifying, Brash now looks firmly on track for his third LGCT title as the Tour rolls on to the dazzling French capital for Stage 7 in Paris.
