Family activities at Al Shaqab Purebred Arabian show horse auction starts today

The indoor arena at Al Shaqab (Member of Qatar Foundation) will host the opening of the Purebred Arabian Show Horse Auction today, Thursday, 6 November 2025. The three-day event is organised by the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC), led by QREC Chairman Mr Hamad bin Abdulrahman Al Attiyah. The auction will continue until next Saturday, featuring 108 horses across the categories of colts, fillies, mares and stallions.

Alongside the auction, family-friendly entertainment activities will be held for visitors wishing to attend and enjoy these activities at Al Shaqab indoor arena even if they are not participating in the auction.
Through these activities, QREC aims to attract more visitors and encourage them to enjoy the accompanying events with free entry for all.

The three-day auction provides an opportunity to showcase all participating horses, many of which come from renowned bloodlines linked to leading studs and farms such as Al Shaqab, Al Rayyan and Al Nasser. This is expected to attract purchasers and enhance the auction’s appeal in line with QREC’s goals of promoting participation amid a growing and diverse line-up of horses.
The Auction Committee is chaired by Mr Saad Ali Al Kubaisi, who affirmed QREC’s full readiness to host the event at this timing, which is considered ideal for purchasers seeking top-quality bloodlines.

The “Mdmar” website which was Founded by Khaled Makhlouf in 2007 for horse and equestrian races is keen to cover and follow all competitions related to horses, from show jumping, Horseracing, speed and endurance races, and purebred Arabian horse beauty shows, which belong to the Arab Gulf countries at home and abroad in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
