Currently, Christian Kukuk holds a narrow lead with 242 points, followed closely by Max Kühner at 234 points. Both have secured one major victory this season—Kukuk topped the podium in Madrid, while Kühner took the win in St. Tropez, Ramatuelle. However, the two riders have had very different journeys to this final leg.
Kühner has claimed two additional podium finishes with impressive second places in Miami Beach and Monaco, showcasing his ability to perform in very unique and challenging arenas. Meanwhile, Kukuk’s strength has been his consistency; despite only one additional podium, a second-place finish in London, he has delivered five top-10 performances in the LGCT Grand Prix throughout the year, keeping him in prime championship contention.

This head-to-head battle is even tighter when you break down the numbers. With 15 events on the LGCT calendar, only the best eight results from each rider count towards the championship standings. To improve their scores in Rabat, Kühner needs to finish 24th or higher, while Kukuk will have to place 12th or better in the LGCT Grand Prix of Rabat. The stakes couldn’t be higher as they aim to add crucial points to their final tallies and you can catch a full debrief of the scenarios in the GCTV Pre studio 30 mins before the LGCT Grand Prix of Rabat starts on Sunday 20 October at 12.45 pm local time.
Speaking to GCTV Christian commented about what makes him so dangerous going into the finals: “I am very focused on the LGCT ranking so I will push myself to at least 100%. However the championship race finishes in the end I will accept it but I would like to accept to be better than Max.”
