A Thrilling Finale: Al Shaqab League Round 1 Concludes with Exceptional Performances from Qatar’s Rising Riders

– The third season of the Al Shaqab League, organised by Al Shaqab (a member of Qatar Foundation), reached a thrilling conclusion today at the Longines Indoor Arena, marking the close of Round 1 and delivering a showcase of equestrian excellence, ambition and sportsmanship.

Over the course of three days, a gathering of Qatar’s emerging riders evolved into a defining moment — one that set a new benchmark for the nation’s young equestrian talent and the standards they aspire to.

Today’s competitions showcased the very essence of the League’s mission:
to discover talent, sharpen skill, and elevate riders from promising to exceptional.

Four premier classes took center stage today, beginning with the Future Champions (110/115 cm) where the podium saw  Mohammed Faisal Al Marri, Mohammed Faisal Al Marri, and Noora Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi.

In the Junior Champions (120/125 cm) class, the top three spots were claimed by Mohammed Faisal Al Marri, Mohammed Faisal Al Marri, and Noora Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi.

The momentum continued in the Youth Champions (130/135 cm) division with  Khaled Al Hadi , Ibrahim Al  Mahmoud and Fares Al Qahtani taking the honors.

Rounding out the day, the pinnacle event — the Al Shaqab Champions (135/145 cm) — crowned Saad Al Saad ,  Saeed Al Qadi, and Saad Al Saad  as the standout riders of Round 1.

Each class reflected the growth of a new generation of riders who demonstrated not only technical skill, but maturity, focus, and a deep connection with their horses.

Mr. Mohammed Jaber Al Khayareen, Director of the Equine Education Department at Al Shaqab, said: “The final day of Round 1 revealed more than winners, it revealed a generation ready to lead Qatar’s equestrian future. What we witnessed today is the result of dedication, discipline, and the unwavering spirit of these young athletes.”

The Al Shaqab League now prepares for Round 2 on 26–27 December, as the journey toward the final title continues.
