A Landmark Opening Day as Qatar Hosts the Prestigious FEI Group VII Finals for the First Time at Al Shaqab

 Al Shaqab, a member of Qatar Foundation, proudly marks the opening of the prestigious FEI Group VII Finals — hosted in Qatar for the first time in the championship’s history. From 27 to 29 November 2025, the Longines Outdoor Arena welcomes the region’s top emerging riders for a landmark edition that elevates the profile of youth equestrian sport across the Middle East and North Africa.

The Finals bring together the highest-ranked Children, Junior, and Young Riders from across Group VII following a year of dedicated qualification. Many of these young athletes are advancing along the official pathway toward the 2026 Youth Olympic Games, making this inaugural hosting an important milestone for both Qatar and the wider region.

Riders from Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Algeria, and Libya are competing in Doha, shaping one of the strongest and most diverse Group VII line-ups to date. This hosting reflects Qatar’s growing leadership in international equestrian sport, supported by Al Shaqab’s commitment to developing talent and raising technical standards across the region.

From the first round of competition, the atmosphere inside the Longines Arena reflected the significance of the occasion. Day 1 featured four one open class and three FEI classes, each demanding technical accuracy, rhythm, and control.

In the CSIYJ-A Special Two-Phase (274.2.5) — 1.20m, Mohammed Eisa Al Bukhari claimed first place, with Abdalla Hamad Ali Al Kirbi and Saleh Mufrrej Ali Mohamed Alkarbi completing the podium.

With two days of competition ahead, anticipation continues to build as riders prepare for the decisive rounds that will determine the 2025 Group VII champions. The Finals resume tomorrow at the Longines Arena with a full slate of competition.
